Rev. Robert (Bob) Murray Pollock


After a lengthy illness, the Rev. Robert (Bob) Murray Pollock died peacefully at Mt. St. Joseph Hospital on July 11th in his 94th year. He was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Robert Pollock and his brother Rev. J. Murdo Pollock, and survived by his sister-in-law Joyce, his nieces Elisabeth (Stephen) Firth, Jean, Janice, and a great-nephew, Mark. Born in Vancouver, Robert had a brief career as a Chartered Accountant before being called to ministry in The Presbyterian Church in Canada. After graduating from UBC and Knox College, Toronto he served congregations in Creston, Brentwood, Abbotsford, and Prince Rupert. In retirement Bob was a dedicated participant in the life of Central Presbyterian Church, Vancouver. The family wishes to thank the Rev. Jim Smith and the staff at St. Paul’s and Mt. St. Joseph hospitals during his long illness. A Memorial Service will be held at Central PC (761 Cardero St.) on Saturday, Aug. 26th at 2:00pm, and an Inurnment Ceremony at Hazelwood Cemetery, Abbotsford on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 3:00pm. Donations made be made to Central Presbyterian Church’s Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
