Rev. Elwyn Arthur Grobe passed away on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at the age of 72, while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to celebrate his 73rd birthday. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Gwen, his family Dave (Tammy), Monroe (Denise), Debi Jo Shelvey (Bruce); 10 adored grandchildren, Steve, James, Kaylee, Jennifer, Corey, Kirby, Cameron, Dawson, Hudson and Ryerson; his two brothers Bob (Nadine), and Don (Marian), many nieces and nephews and a huge host of friends. Elwyn served as a Nazarene Pastor for 39 years, most recently as Pastor to Seniors, at the Abbotsford Church of the Nazarene.
A Memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 18, 2006 at 1:00 pm at the Church of the Nazarene, 2390 McMillan Rd., Abbotsford.
The Rev. Elwyn A. Grobe Memorial Scholarship has been set up at Nazarene University College in Calgary. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Fund at NUC #630, 833 4th Ave. SW, Calgary, AB T2P 3T5.
