Reinhard David Epp

Reinhard David Epp passed away on June 4, 2017 into the arms of Jesus. Though we are mourning a great loss, we also celebrate both a life well-lived and a faith in Christ Jesus now complete. Dad’s loud strong voice could be heard for miles. Always laughing, joking, and encouraging, those who knew him best knew with certainty that his love, pride, and devotion to his family was steadfast. Dad was a hard worker, starting at age 12 unloading 100 pound sacks of flour from the train onto the flat deck truck and then again into the storage shed for his Dad’s flour business. His strong work ethic never wavered, but more importantly he understood the importance of work went far beyond a pay cheque. He spent countless hours involved in MCC, MDS and M2W2, local organizations committed to giving back to those in need. He travelled abroad to volunteer his time doing things like painting a church in Germany, building a dorm at SPCU in Russia, – going wherever and doing whatever needed to be done. No job was too small or to big. In fact, right up until his hospitalization, he was working on projects for his grandchildren. Dad taught us that nothing was impossible; at the age of 21 he got his pilot license and bought a small Piper Cub airplane with his friend. Through all his years, his hearty laugh and optimistic perspective remained a consistent source of strength and love for those he knew. More than anything, we are grateful for his strong faith and trust in Jesus Christ, and it brings us great peace and comfort knowing he is no longer in pain but embraced by his Heavenly Father. Born on January 23, 1935, Dad was the youngest child of David and Agneta Epp. He was predeceased by his parents, and five siblings Alex, John, Vega, Ella and Peter. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his wife Gerry of almost 58 years, kids; Audrey (Art Hoehn), Mark Epp (Shirley) and Cora Ellis, grandchildren; Mandy (Callen Bouchard), Vicki (Tim Middleton), Keith Epp (Ashley), Karl Hoehn, Michelle (Drew Kellerman), Jusi (Justin Neufeld), Brynn, Cade, Eden and Dane Ellis, great grandchildren, Jaeger Middleton, Hudson Neufeld, Mason Kellerman, Nolan Bouchard, Oaklee Neufeld, Hunter Epp, Lola Middleton, Ryker Epp, Cooper Kellerman and Nash Bouchard and many extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to MCC are gratefully received. Funeral is Monday June 12 @ 11:00 am at Bakerview Church in Clearbrook.
