It is with great sadness that we announce Phyllis's passing from this earthly life to her eternal life. She has no more pain and is now safe in the arms of her Lord and Saviour.
Phyllis lived a life of service to others through; her devotion to her Lord and her church, locally through her volunteer work at the Tabor home and MCC stores, internationally for many years as a part of an RV ministry that helped in places of need with MDS.
The Lord blessed her with the gift of music, and she loved using this gift in her ministry. Singing in groups, playing piano for choirs and groups, music therapy in nursing homes. Keyboard in hand, a smile on her face and the voice of an angel, she touched many.
She will be remembered for her infectious laugh that could be heard often before she was seen. She loved people and being with them. She was a caring, loving and prayerful Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandma, Aunt and Friend.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jake; children Darrel (Hilda), Connie Campbell (Don). She also leaves to mourn, her 2 grandchildren: Allyssa Fischer (Mark) and Kelsey Epp. Her great grandsons, Dawson and Drew Fischer.
Phyllis was predeceased by her older sister Alice and both of her parents.
The family sincerely thanks her doctors, nurses, and other members of the staff at both ER and the Palliative Care Ward at ARH, where Phyllis spent her last hours on this earth.
I hope you can hear her voice in your memory and know that she has passed on to join the greatest choir ever assembled.
In lieu of flowers, and to continue her work of helping others, please feel free to make a donation to MCC Mennonite Disaster Service.
