MIERAU, Peter John
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Abbotsford Regional Hospital on Wed March 24, 2010 at the age of 93. He was born in Langham, Saskatchewan to John and Lena Mierau on Dec 12,1916 and spent his youth farming until after WWII when he married his sweetheart Erma Pankratz. The first of four sons was born the following year and then in 1948, they moved to Matsqui. Peter worked hard to support his family by mixed farming and later working at Dueck's Building Supplies and Snowcrest Packers until he retired in l982. Peter amd Erma loved to travel and do missionary work until she passed away in 1994. The following year Peter married Mary Hiebert and they were active in doing volunteer work and travelling. Mary passed away in 2007, afterwhich Peter continued to be active in church, bowling and socializing. His Legacy is his love for his Lord, his family and laughter. He is pre-deceased by his parents, infant son Wilmer, brothers and sisters. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Nettie, and Martha, sister-in-laws Mary and Lydia, brothers Edwin and Reuben, his sons Larry (Maureen), Gordon (Jennifer), Vern (Elaine) and his grandchildren Kevin (Julie), Janelle (Dustin), Juliana, Victoria, Jason and Kelsey, as well as his great grandchildren, Jaylene and
Katelyn Mierau as well as many nephews and nieces. Memorial Service to be held at Grace Church, 2087 McMIllan Rd., Abbotsford, Monday March 29, 2010 at 11 AM. Graveside service at McClure Cemetary at 9:30 AM and Viewing on Sunday March 28, 2010 from 7-9 PM at Henderson's Funeral Chapel on Marshall Road, Abbotsford.
