Peter was truly an amazing and one of a kind man! Whether he was helping someone (usually his youngest daughter Sherry) move or out riding his bike enjoying himself, he always put his family and others first.
Peter and Diana had been foster parents for 25 years and married for 44 this September. Peter had planned to re-marry Diana to surprise her on my wedding day and his birthday on August 11th. We are all completely overcome with grief over his sudden death and tragic loss to all close to him.
Peter was the type of man who would give the shirt off his back to a perfect stranger in a snow storm.
He was an amazing role model and father, I am the strong, successful, woman I am today because of him and all he has taught me. He was a strong believer of recycling he would bicycle alone on all the roads from Chilliwack to White Rock to clean them up. Recycling cans and bottles on his bike was his passion, and he died doing what he loved! Peter loved gardening, he loved trees and flowers and would rescue them from abandoned houses and plant them in his daughter Sherry's and his own yard for us..... the women of his life....
Peter is survived by his loving wife Diana, daughters Judy and Sherry, his granddaughter who is pregnant and due in November, and all the friends and people who know and loved him.
We know you will be watching over us on my wedding day and your birthday dad, as I get married and start a new chapter in my life. WE ALL LOVE YOU DEARLY!! There will be a tea at Jack & Brenda Hieberts, 3311 Firhill St. Abbotsford, on Saturday, July 31 at 1:00 p.m.
