BECK, Peter Augustinus

Peter passed away peacefully with his family around him after a short, hard fought battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Paula. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his children, Eric (Heather) Beck, Velda (Roy) Stagg, Ron (Kathy) Beck and Pawlette (Bryan) Glaister; 3 grandchildren Erica (Brian) Parnell, Curtis Beck and Mary Beck; 1 great-grand child, Lauren Parnell. Peter and his family arrived in Canada from Holland in 1950 and soon thereafter became Canadian citizens of which he was very proud. He worked for a Surrey dairy farmer for 4 years before leasing a farm in Cloverdale. In 1965 they purchased a farm in Dewdney where he lived and worked till just recently. He loved farming dairy cattle, sports and most of all his family and good friends. His work ethic was impeccable and loved to share in a good conversation about life and share a good laugh. He was a larger than life presence and will be missed terribly. The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff at Mission Memorial Hospital, Royal Columbian Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 32550 7th Avenue, Mission. The family requests no flowers and if desired to direct memorial donations to Canuck Place or BC Cancer Society in Peter's name.
