Paula was a spirited and independent woman that loved to go camping, do needlepoint and had a great love of cats. She met Henry during the war and soon became a willing war bride leaving England in 1945 and entering Canada at pier 21.

After Dad joined her they lived in various small communities throughout the prairies, building a house in Saskatoon with just a hammer and a handsaw, from there they homesteaded in Northern Alberta living the life of early pioneers in a small log line shack they built. Eventually they relocated to BC where mum worked in the retail trade and also as an office manager until her retirement.

She was president of the Abbotsford War bride Association for many years and will be missed by her fellow club members as well as many family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Phimister, Logan Manor and all the staff for their assistance and loving care.
