Mrs. Lucy Thompson, late of Abbotsford, passed away on June 15, 2007 at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her husband Glen on August 30, 1990 and her sister Eileen of Burnaby. She is survived by her sister Phyllis and her brother Jack. Mum was born in London, England on October 3, 1919. Her family moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where Mum grew up. Mum met Dad in Dauphin, Manitoba and they were married October 19, 1940. Lucy’s greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind her loving family; Betty (Dean) Newham, Faye (Gerald) Bryce, Joan (Alan) Chatterton; grandchildren Shelly (Gary) Kornelsen, Heather (Pat) Hyska, Allison (Greg) Margarhitas, Jackie (Cory) Unger, Kathy (Warren) Irwin, Matt Chatterton, Stephen Chatterton; great-grandchildren Holly, Joey, and Lara Kornelsen, Kevin and Kayla Unger, and Nathan Irwin. The family would like to thank the caregivers of Maplewood House and Claudia Brown who gave Mum such love and support for the last 2 years and especially in the last few days. Special thoughts go out to her friends from Cascade Court, her church and her bridge club of many, many years. A funeral service will be held at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, 2010 Guilford Drive, Abbotsford on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 2:00 pm with Rev. James Wagner officiating. Interment will follow at Musselwhite Cemetery. Donations may be made to CNIB, 1929 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, ON M4G 3E8 in Lucy’s memory.
