Mrs. Lois Anne BOE (Ferguson)

Mrs. Lois Anne Boe (Ferguson), late of Abbotsford, B.C. passed away on September 9, 2005, at the age of 78 years at Abbotsford, B.C.

Lois was born on July 23, 1927 in Lacombe, Alberta, to William Cairns Ferguson and Margaret Lucretia Ferguson (Harris). Lois, her three sisters, and one brother grew up on the family farm in the Nebraska District near the village of Tees, Alberta. Lois met Mel Boe from the Clive Alberta area, and they married on November 23, 1947 in Tees. Mel and Lois raised their two daughters and a son in Alix and Red Deer Alberta. In 1970 they moved to Nanaimo, B.C. where they built and ran Jingle Pot Campsite. In 1989 Mel and Lois retired to Abbotsford where they have resided ever since. Lois was an avid bowler in her younger years and she enjoyed Bingo and traveling in their Motor Home as “Snowbirds” in her retirement years.

Lois is survived by her husband of 58 years — Melford Boe, her daughters: Wendy Rogers (Glenn) of Grande Prairie, Alberta; BarbeeLee (Clyde) Moraes of Nanaimo, B.C.; her son, Gordon Boe of San Francisco, California; her grandchildren, Christopher Rogers, Corey Rogers, Lucretia Delmos, Don Moraes (CoraLee), and Mandy Moraes; her sister, Mrs. Phyllis Fraser of Langley, B.C.; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Rhoda (Vernon) Ferguson of Bashaw, Alberta, and many nieces and nephews in B.C. and Alberta.

Lois was predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret Ferguson; her brother Stanley Ferguson; her sisters and brother-in-laws; Elva and Lawrence Sim and Louise and Jack Horner; and her brother-in-law Elmer Fraser.

Lois will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends in both Alberta and B.C.

A viewing was held on Monday September 12, 2005 at 4:00 P.M. at Henderson’s Funeral Home in Abbotsford, B.C. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday September 15, at 2:00 P.M. from Eventide Funeral Chapel in Red Deer, Alberta. The Burial will be held at Alto-Rest Cemetery in Red Deer, Alberta. Donations may be made to “The Heart and Stroke Foundation.”
