EYRE, Minnie (nee Forrister)

Aug. 20, 1909 - Feb. 4, 2009

Minnie passed away peacefully at Abbotsford Regional Hospital with family by her side.

Born in Stone, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, England, she was the eldest of eight. The Forrister family emigrated to Saskatchewan in 1923. Minnie was predeceased by her husband William Eyre and her four brothers and three sisters. Minnie is survived by her two daughters, Joan (Joe) Oleyarz and Kathleen Eyre, four grandchildren; Kris, Joan, Marijane and Don, six great grandchildren, Nikki, Jenna, David, Jake, Nick and Samantha, and numerous nieces and nephews. She had been a very active member of numerous service clubs. Minnie especially loved to play bridge, and continued to play a very good game until two weeks before she passed away. A special Thank You from the family to the Menno Housing staff for the wonderful care over the past three years. Thanks, also to Dr. Bale and the staff at Abbotsford Hospital. The family invites you to join them in a Celebration of Her Life, which will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Menno Terraces (East), 2021 Primrose Street.

Minnie will be sadly missed by her family and many longtime friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mennonite Benevolent Society (Menno Terrace).
