Mika Bergen passed away quietly at the Tabor Home on November 21, 2007. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 60 years, Isaac, son Pete (Sherry) Esther, Heather, Kimberle, son Henry (Heidi) Joshua, Jason, Jolene, son John (Karen) Darci, Conner, Jodi (Kerry Dyck) Owen, Karson and daughter Marita (Peter Gunther) Sonja (Danny Hiebert) Brooke, Devyn, Christy (John Jefremow) Janae, Steven (Jackie) and BJ, her sister Lena Flore, brothers Henry (Carol) and Abe (Mae), two sister-in-laws Elisabeth Krahn and Luzie Bergen and many nieces and nephews.
Mika was born in the Ukraine to Peter and Maria Krahn (Janzen). She married Isaac Bergen in April 1947. They came to Canada in 1948 and settled in Abbotsford where she worked on the farm with berries and chickens while Isaac built up his construction business. Mika especially enjoyed gardening and all kinds of handwork. Her greatest joy in life were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mika's life will be honoured on Monday November 26,2007. Public viewing will be held at Ebenezer Menn. Church from 9-10 am with internment to follow at Maclure Road Cemetery. A memorial will take place at 12 noon at Ebenezer Menn. Church, 2051 Windsor Street, Abbotsford.
