Maxine Denise Siemens
September 9, 1922 - May 24, 2008
Maxine was born to Clyde and Anna King in Wadena, Saskatchewan on September 9, 1922. She completed her earthly journey on May 24, 2008 peacefully at home with her family at her side. She is now with our Lord Jesus Christ in glory. Shortly after her birth the King family moved to Spalding, Saskatchewan where Maxine enjoyed a happy childhood through her school years. After high school she attended teacher training college in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. This was followed by 4 years of teaching in Saskatchewan and 3 years in B.C.
Maxine met her beloved Al at Cultus Lake on June 10 (her grandmother's birthday) 1949. It was love at first sight and they wasted no time getting married on March 10, 1950. Their first of 6 children Roger (Gail) was born on February 14, 1952 (Valentine's Day). The other five followed - Randy (Debbie), Richard (Arlene), Joan (Jeff), Doug (Lana) and Mitch (Pam). Maxine is mourned by her immediate family, 18 grandchildren, 15 great grand children, three sisters - Shirley, Gae, Iris and three brothers and sisters in law. She was predeceased by her parents, one grandson and one great grandson.
Maxine was saved in 1959 through reading of the gospel of John. She has been an ardent Christian the rest of her life. The practical expression of her faith through her gentle and loving kindness influenced many lives.
Maxine will be greatly missed by her family and all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Dear wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. We will always love you and look forward to our reunion in heaven one day. What a day of rejoicing that will be.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Maxine's life at Clearbrook MB church, 2719 Clearbrook Road at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2008.
