VOTH, Mary

Died peacefully on July 30, 2009. She was born April 19, 1928 in Hepburn Saskatchewan to Frank and Suzie Kroeker. She committed her life to Jesus Christ at a young age and was baptized as a teenager. She married Nick Voth in August 1950. They enjoyed a very close relationship. After celebrating forty years of marriage she was predeceased by her husband in 1990. Mary moved from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Abbotsford, BC in 1995 where she joined Bakerview MB Church. Here she renewed long time acquaintances and made many new friends. She is remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Though she was ill at various times during her life, she was known as an active, cheerful, and spiritually vibrant woman. She had a great sense of humour and showed a practical, "homespun" attitude to life. Mary was a wonderful Christian role model for many. She enjoyed meaningful relationships with family, friends and neighbours, long walks, coffee times with her friends and volunteer work at MCC. Music played an important role throughout her life. In recent years singing with the Bakerview Seniors Choir gave her much joy. She will be sadly missed by her children Ron (Sharon), Rick (Gay Lynn), Debby Baerg (Artur) and Gerald (Valerie), nine grandchildren five great grandchildren. The family is grateful for the compassionate care Mom received from the nurses and volunteers at Cascade Hospice and her physicians, Dr Trent Loewen, and Dr Uhlman. As well, the family would like to thank the pastoral staff and members of the Bakerview Church family for their faithful support during the time of Mom's final illness. Funeral services for Mary Voth will be held at Bakerview MB Church 2285 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford BC on Wednesday August 5, 2009 at 11:00am. In lieu of flower, donations may be made to MCC.
