July 2, 1929 - February 23, 2019
Mary Scanlan passed away peacefully at her home in Abbotsford, BC on February 23, 2019. Mary was born on July 2, 1929 in Glasgow, Scotland. In 1959 she immigrated to Canada with her husband and three oldest children, though her heart was always in Scotland. The family settled in Abbotsford, where two more children were born. Mary worked as a Medical Office Assistant in Abbotsford for many years. Mary's favorite food was chocolate, she loved to sing, tend to her flower garden, go out for lunch with her family and friends, and she had a great sense of humor (Scottish).
Mary is survived by her five children: Frank (Barbara), David, Stephen (Suzanne), Patricia and Paul; grandsons Marshall (Ann) and Sean, granddaughters Megan and Nicole (Jeremy); great granddaughters Nora and Isla. Mary was predeceased by husband David Scanlan, grandson Daniel and granddaughter Jessica.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Turchen, and the emergency services for their kindness.
A private family service will be held followed by a Celebration of Life in the spring.
