Mrs. Mary Chorm, a long-time resident of Abbotsford, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2004 at Menno Home at the age of 92. She was born in Olha, Manitoba on November 17, 1911.
She was predeceased by her husband William, brother Michael Niznowsky, sisters Jessie Grudinski and Rose Rees and daughter-in-law Liz Chorm.
She will be greatly missed by her survivors: 3 sons: Wilfred (Jill) Chorm, Jack Chorm and Louis (Violet) Chorm; 6 grandchildren: Mark (Yee) Chorm, LeAnne (Kevin) Poland, Bill Chorm, Kirk Chorm, Lainey Sanders and Lisa Sanders; 3 great grandchildren: Taylor Sanders, Julia Poland and Miya Poland; brother John Niznowsky, sister Pauline (George) Swereda and many other relatives and dear friends.
Mary was a wonderful, caring, compassionate lady who loved children, gardening and entertaining. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxilary.
The family would like to thank the Menno Home staff who provided excellent care for Mary.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2004 from 7-9 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road (at Sumas Way), Abbotsford.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2004 at 11:00 am at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 2597 Bourquin Cres. East, Abbotsford with Rev. Dr. J.H. (Hans) Kouwenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery, Abbotsford.
