CARLETON, Mary Helen

Aug. 12, 1923 ~ June 18, 2010

Mary (nee Pratt) Carleton was called Home to Heaven on June 18, 2010 at 86 years of age, following a battle with cancer. Mary was born in Eastend, Saskatchewan and raised on the family farm near Ravenscrag. She met Ralph in the summer of 1941. They were married on April 24, 1946, following Ralph's army service (1942 -1945) and graduation from Bible school. They spent the next 62 years of their lives together, loving and serving others. After pastoring with the United Church of Canada in rural Saskatchewan for some years, Ralph and Mary farmed in Ravenscrag, SK (1954-1961) and Cremona, AB (1961-1998). In November of 1998 they moved to Abbotsford to be near their eldest son, whose health was declining due to multiple sclerosis. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Ralph (March 8, 2009) and son Ron (January 5, 2003). She is survived by her daughter Rose Carleton, son Neil (Valerie) Carleton, daughter-in-law Gladys (Ken) Reeve, foster son Peter (Carol) McNairn, granddaughters Nikki Carleton, Emmy (Jason) Epp and Coralie Carleton, and grandsons Logan and Landon McNairn. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 24, at Abbotsford Evangelical Free Church, 33218 Marshall Road (Marshall and Ware). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Millar College of the Bible, Box 25, Pambrun, SK S0N 1W0 (www.millarcollege.ca) or to a charity of your choice.
