GOERTZEN, Martha
Went to be with her Lord April 7, 2008 after a brief struggle with cancer. She is survived by her sisters Elizabeth Dirkson and Mary Mielke and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Martha was born July 16, 1933, the youngest child of Henry and Justina Goertzen in Main Center, Sask. After graduating from Briercrest Bible Institute she served with the Evangelical Free Church Mission. Her ministry began teaching for the Janz Team at what later became Black Forest Academy. She moved on to children's work, women's ministry and teaching at a Bible School. The great love of her life was church planting. A memorial celebrating her life will be held Friday, April 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Abbotsford Evangelical Free Church, 33218 Marshall Road, Abbotsford.
At Martha's request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Evangelic Free Church of Canada Mission, P.O. Box 850, Langley Stn. LCD1, Langley V3A 8S6 and designated for "New church planting in Germany".
