Marlene MacDONALD

Marlene MacDONALD

MacDONALD; Marlene Alexandra (Unger). Went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on June 5, 2014 at the age of 55. Marlene was born in Abbotsford, BC on November 19, 1958 to parents Henry and Eleanor Unger. Her husband Eddie, her children Amy, Ryan and wife (Jessica), and grandson Elliot, her dad and stepmother (Sandy), siblings Denise (nee Unger) and husband Rick Matis, and brother Darrell Unger mourn her passing, but her mom predeceased her in August 1992. Marlene was a student at the Canadian Bible College in Regina, Saskatchewan preparing for Christian Ministry when she met an RCMP trainee named Edward (Eddie) MacDonald whom she married on September 10, 1982. Marlene was a kind, loving, selfless woman who will be dearly missed. Marlene was fortunate to be able to make her home in Abbotsford, because her RCMP husband’s career was always in close proximity to Abbotsford. Marlene was a gifted seamstress, her talent surfacing early in her life by sewing her own version of a Princess Di wedding gown. Her talent expressed itself in more than one direction however, art, house design and decorating, cake making, fish pond designing and gardening. Marlene loved animals, even raised and sold puppies for a short time in her life. The family wishes to thank Dr. Burns, Dr. Galbraith, Dr. Constantino, and Dr. Newton for their care over the past several months; along with everyone at Christine Morrison Hospice for their compassionate care during the last few weeks of Marlene’s life. A Celebration of Life was held on Tuesday, June 10th at 1:30 pm at Sevenoaks Alliance Church on 2575 Gladwin Rd. in Abbotsford. The MacDonald family, based on Marlene’s wishes, would like to advise people that if they so desire to buy flowers it would be our request in lieu of them please feel free to donate to the Abbotsford Hospice and give to the “Holmberg House” in memory of Marlene MacDonald by mail at Abbotsford Hospice Society, 33134 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC, V2S 1K5, by phone 604-852-2456, or online:
