Marjorie I. E. Colterjohn (nee Ayers)

Cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 29, 2017 in Abbotsford Regional Hospital. She leaves behind her loving husband and best friend of 64 years, Ian, and their children - daughter Karen Seller (Brian), son David Colterjohn (Karen C.), and daughter Indira Manuel (Philip); grandchildren - Naomi Seller, Rebekah Shaw (Monty), Sarah Seller (Navid), Mikaela Manuel and Sophia Manuel; great grandchildren - Myah Seller, Kian Afsaripour, and Thatcher Shaw. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Audrey Grexton (1992), brother-in law Gerald Grexton, her brother Dr. Thomas Ayers (2004) and sister-in-law Shirley Ayers. She is survived by her sister, Sylvia Benson. Marj was born in Toronto on February 17, 1928, spent her teen years in Espanola, Ontario, and graduated as a nurse from the Toronto East General Hospital. She met and married Ian in Winnipeg and they settled in Vancouver for many years. Together they raised their family in many places, including India and Nepal, as United Church Missionaries. Her nursing career came to an abrupt end after a serious car accident. Marj was devoted to her family, cherished them and supported their endeavors. In spite of many physical difficulties, she remained cheerful, and will be remembered by her family, for her faith in Christ, her happy smile, making every house a home, and her blackberry pies. Marj's memorial service will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 33911 Hazelwood Ave., Abbotsford, BC at 10:30am on

Friday, July 7, 2017. Refreshments to follow.
