BARBER, Marion Mason

Born on January 26, 1928 to Lide and Rebecca Barber in Gerber, California. Marvin passed away on October 20, 2010 in Abbotsford, B.C. He was raised by his grandparents in Spruce Coulee and Donalda, Alberta where he loved roaming the hills, trapping, hunting, and fishing. At age 17 he moved to Port Moody. Marvin, known to his friends as Cookie, worked at Flaval Cedar and Brownsville as sawyer until retiring in Abbotsford at 60. Always learning he was a man of many talents, very inventive and creative. He enjoyed letter writing, painting, gardening, golfing, fishing and traveling. Marvin had a very fulfilling life. Predeceased by brother Noble, sisters Viola and Fern. survived by wife Edith, children Geraldeen, Bruce (Denece), Lee (Cindy), Blain, Lyle (Bonnie), Becky (Fred), Lonnie (Tony) & Alison. Special thanks to Marv's friends Colleen & Danny & the nurses at ARH. There will be a memorial service held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford
