With great sadness, we announce the passing of our dear mom, Maria. Maria passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Deo, her brother, Adriano and her son-in-law, Derek.
She is survived by her 5 daughters: Margaret, Louise (Blake), Liz, Sonya (Brad) and Susan and by 13 grandchildren: Sara, Lauren, Michael, Jakob, Luke, Joshua, Alyssa, Amanda, Nicholas, Samantha, Kyle, Gri n, Harper and 5 great grandchildren: Rex, Evelyn, Silas, Avery, Emerson and countless family and friends who all adored her.
Maria was born in Azores, Portugal and immigrated to Canada in 1960 to join her husband, Deo. They started their family in Calgary AB followed by a move to Abbotsford BC where their youngest daughter was born.
Maria was a selfless, caring person who took care of her husband during his battle with cancer and never left his side. She was such a loving support for her family and the glue that kept everyone together.
She is loved and missed more than words can express. The family would like to thank the staff at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital.
Prayers will be held at St Ann's Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 6 at 7 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St Ann's Catholic Church, 33333 Mayfair Ave, Abbotsford on Thursday, Sept 7 at 10 am. The Burial service to follow at Hazelwood Cemetery, Abbotsford and Reception at St. Ann's Church Hall, Abbotsford.
