Margaret SIBORNE

SIBORNE, Margaret

Eleanor (McLeod)

Loving mother, grandmother and friend. Born January 1, 1923 passed away August 27, 2009. Marg was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, George, in 1996. She will be sadly missed by her son Brian (Trudy), daughter Barb (Chuck) MacBey, grandchildren Byron (Lisa), Brett, Kristi and Katie, great grandchildren Samara and Brennen, and many other special family and friends. Marg was born and lived most of her life in Vancouver, but did spend 8 great years in Nanaimo during George’s banking career. While there, they made life long friends and Nanaimo always had a special place in her heart. She also loved to travel and was very fortunate to have had many great trips prior to and after George’s death. Hawaii was their favourite place though and they spent most winters enjoying “their” beach in front of the Halekelani on Waikiki. Sports were a big part of her life, both as a spectator (B.C. Lions season ticket holder since ’54) and a participant, as she was a keen golfer until just a few years ago. But most of all Marg will be remembered for her joy of family, socializing, entertaining and being around those she loved. Her favourite phrase was ‘Family is Everything’ and she was everything to her family. We will miss you more than words can say….A Celebration of Life will be held at Point Grey Golf Club, 3350 S.W.Marine Drive, Vancouver on September 19,2009 at 2:00pm. Should friends wish, a donation in Marg’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, BC/Yukon Div.
