Margaret BROWN (nee Giesbrecht)

October 9, 2006

Margaret (nee Giesbrecht) went peacefully to be with her Lord on October 9, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1992. She was also predeceased by her parents, Cornelius and Aganetha Giesbrecht and her sisters Lena in infancy, Nettie Klassen, Hilda Hamm, Susie Derksen and her only brother, Ed. She is survived by her children, Sharon Turk (Larry), Verne (Judy), Dianne Schellenberg (Ted) and Rick (Gloria), 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sisters Marie Stoesz (Bill), Trudie Unrau, Annie Loewen, Tina Stoesz (Henry), and her brother-in-law George Hamm. She enjoyed being a homemaker and her love for children was evident by the number of foster children placed in her care. When her husband retired she entered the work force at the University of Manitoba Food Services and loved the huge kitchen and serving at gala parties for the university administration. In 1986 mom and dad moved to Abbotsford, BC where they continued their worship of the Lord at Grace Church. Mom invited many friends, young and old, into their home for meals and fellowship. Mom loved to watch baseball and curling, and was an active bowler. Her last year was a struggle after receiving a pacemaker in January of this year.

Public visitation will take place on Thursday, October 12 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Grace Church, 2087 McMillan Road, Abbotsford, BC. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, October 13, meeting at Grace Church at 10:30 a.m. A memorial service will be held at Grace Church at 1:00 p.m. If desired, donations may be made in her memory to Campus Crusade for Christ, PO Box 300, Vancouver, BC V6C 2X3, or to the Wycliffe Bible Translators, 4316 10th Street N.E. Calgary, AB T2E 6K3.
