BARRACLOUGH ~ Lillian

(nee Stagg)

Passed away peacefully on December 2, 2008. She is sadly missed by her husband, Harold, her 5 children: Valerie (Grant), Gordon (Darlene), Susan (George), Karen (Jeff), Kimmy (Laurie) and stepson Joe (Anna). Also left behind to miss their grandmother are 11 grandchildren, her sister Edith, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Winnipeg, Lillian moved to Edmonton in 1948 after her Service in the Canadian Airforce during WWII. There, she enjoyed summers at Mameo Beach with her family, curling at the Shamrock Curling Club and singing in the Ritchie United Church Choir. Her first husband, Joe, passed away in 1978 and a few years later, she was fortunate to meet and marry Harold. They shared 24 amazing years together.

She and Harold moved to Abbotsford to retire and to be closer to all her children and grandchildren. Lil and Harold spent many happy years camping at Cultus Lake: golfing, swimming and riding their bikes. They also travelled abroad going to Great Britain, gambling trips to Reno, driving to California, relaxing on the beach in Hawaii and cruising to Alaska.

We would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Menno Home and Hospital in Abbotsford who cared for our mom with dignity and compassion her last 4 years of life.

A celebration of her life will be held on December 14, 2008 at Woodlawn Dignity Funeral Home in Abbotsford at 2:00 pm, located at 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford, BC. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Salvation Army.
