SEPT, Lena

Lena Sept, formerly Unger, resident of Menno Home Intermediate Care, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 6, 2010. She was predeceased by her first husband, Otto Unger, and is survived by her second husband, Emerson Sept; her four children and their spouses, Sally and (John) Guggenheimer, Ernie and (Elsie) Unger, Ruth and (Peter) Froese, and Linda and (Willie) Wiebe; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; and her three brothers and their wives, Abe and Grace Bergen, John and Leila Bergen, and Corrie and Myrtle Bergen.

Lena spent the majority of her career years as a bookkeeper at Ritchie-Smith Feeds from its inception in 1968 until her retirement in 1987. She was also active as a volunteer at West Abbotsford Mennonite Church and within the BC General Conference of Mennonite Churches, in both leadership and financial management roles.

Woodlawn Funeral Home at 2310 Clearbrook Road will host the viewing on Sunday, April 11 from 7-8 pm, the interment at Maclure Road Cemetery on Monday, April 12 at 1:00 pm, and the memorial service at Woodlawn Chapel on Monday, April 12 at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to MCC are encouraged as expressions of honour and sympathy.
