Kesar Singh Chera

Kesar Singh Chera, a courageous man who survived the India-Pakistan partition, passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at the age of 87 years.

Kesar was born in Hissar, India. He bravely fought for the British Army in the Second World War, and shortly after got married and settled in Punjab. Kesar immigrated to Canada in 1978 and has called Abbotsford his home for almost 26 years.

Kesar will be dearly missed by his loving wife, son and daughter-in-law, three daughters and sons-in-law, 18 grandchildren, two great granddaughters and many relatives and friends.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at the Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford on Saturday, July 31st at 10:30 am Prayer services are to follow at the Khalsa Diwan Society at 33094 South Fraser Way, Abbotsford.
