HIEBERT, KATHRIN (TINA) DUECK
Kathrin (Tina) Dueck Hiebert, 87, of Abbotsford, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord on Monday, October 13, 2008 at The Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre.
Tina was born August 21, 1921 in Steinbach, Manitoba to John and Maria (Dueck) Reimer. She attended grade school at Clearspring Country School north of town. She married Ben Hiebert in a double wedding with her brother John and Mary Reimer on November 2, 1941. Tina lived in Steinbach before moving to BC to follow Ben who had been stationed in BC during the war. After the war they settled back in Steinbach for many years before returning to the Abbotsford area in 1965. Tina was a member of Grace Church in Abbotsford. She loved to help others and spent many hours providing transportation for the elderly. she ministered to shut ins by reading and singing to them. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were a great delight to her and she enjoyed their visits. she is survived by her children, Calvin (Sharon) Hiebert if McHenry, Il., Brenda (Jim) Doucette of Fort St. John, BC, and Roger (Lois) Hiebert of Abbotsford, BC, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. also survived by three sisters, Margaret Wiens of Steinbach, MB, Mary Loewen of Chilliwack, BC, Elsie Kliever of Sawn River, MB and three brothers, Benny Reimer, Art (Mary) Reimer, both of Steinbach, MB and Milton (Clarice) Reimer of Thompson Falls, Montana. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Ben, in 1976, her parents, brother John, and sisters Nettie and Adina. Viewing will be held at Grace Church, 2087 McMillan Road from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 20th. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. at MacLure Road Cemetery followed by a memorial service at Grace Church at 2:00 p.m.
