Sammon, Kathleen Doris (Auton)
Kathleen Sammon passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Kathleen was born in Vancouver on February 12, 1915, the fifth of six daughters of Henry and Ellen Auton. Kathleen worked at the Gutta Percha Rubber Company as a young woman, and it was there that she met her beloved husband Andrew (Andy) Sammon, to whom she was married for 59 years. They lived first in Penticton, then Burnaby for 45 years and then moved to Abbotsford for another 5 happy years. Andrew passed away in August, 2006, and a year later Kathleen moved to the Tabor Home. Mom is loving remembered by her son Peter (Christine) Sammon and her granddaughter Maggie of Calgary; her daughter Wendy (David) Erickson and grandsons Jonathan, Michael and Tim of Aldergrove; her grandson Scott (Nicole) of Abbotsford; her sister Phyllis of Vancouver; and many nieces and nephews. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Andy and sisters Flo, Gwen, Hetty and Eileen. The family would like to thank the medical staff at the Tabor Home who looked after our mother so well. Mom's sharp wit never failed to entertain her family and friends and she will be much missed. Kathleen requested that no funeral service be held.
