Karl “Clifford” ANDERSEN

February 14, 2007

Clifford was born in Glenella, Manitoba on April 20, 1924 to parents Soren and Elizabeth Andersen and he passed away peacefully on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2007, at the age of 82.

He was predeceased by his sisters: Ann Elizabeth Andersen (1923) and Muriel Emily Bradt (1978); his parents: Elizabeth Andersen (1957) and Soren Peter Andersen (1988); his stepson, Leslie Juergen Fitschen (1980) and his loving wife, Margaret Clara Andersen (1990).

He is survived by his two sons: Robert (Irma) Andersen of Duncan and their three sons (Soren, Conner, and Lucas) and Brian (Debbie) Anderson of Abbotsford and their two daughters (Jennifer and Suzanne); his stepsons’ wife, Jane Fitschen and her sons (Spencer and Tony); his brother Roy (Olive) Anderson of Penticton and their three sons (Daryl, Jerry, Ron) and their families; his sister (Muriel) daughters Bettie (Dave) Merrell and Kathy (Larry) Scully and their families.

Clifford and Margaret settled in Abbotsford to raise their family. For 55 years, his working life was spent in the chicken industry of the Fraser Valley. He worked at Pringles Hatchery in Chilliwack and at Sanders Hatchery in Abbotsford. Afterwards Clifford enjoyed many years of retirement. He particularly liked OAP dances and visiting with family and friends. His last 2 1/2 years were spent at Hallmark Assisted living where he made many new friends. He was a loving husband, and devoted father and grandfather.

Clifford will be sorely missed by his family and friends whom he loved to kid around with about money or winning the lottery. The family would like to send a special thank you to Hallmark Assisted Living for making Cliff’s last few years so enjoyable.

Also, thanks to Dr. Pauls and the nursing staff on 2 West at MSA Hospital.

An “open house” memorial service will be held on Monday, Feb. 26 at the “Ramada Abbotsford Inn Conference Centre (604-870-1050)” between 3:30 and 7:00 pm, 36035 North Parallel Road. Come join us in the celebration of Cliff’s life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
