AKA - The Old Boot
Karin peacefully passed in her sleep at 4:25 am December 27, 2015 at Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission Memorial Hospital. She had many loved ones and friends spend time with her thru-out the holiday season as well as during her six month battle with cancer. She is survived by her younger brothers Darrol and Gary and their wives Nancy and Lisa, her children Bill, Leila and Mia, their partners Greg, Judy and Brian, her beloved grandsons Richard, Paul and Austin Healy, her son-in-law Mark, her granddaughter-in-law Ashley, great granddaughter Peyton, and her devoted boyfriend Lance. Her family would like to thank Karin's doctors, Dr. Nemanishen, Dr. De-Klerk and Dr. Keith from ARH. A special thank you to Bev Belanger, Mission Memorial staff and Christine Morrison staff. Also to everyone at St. Andrew's Community Housing, all of her numerous friends and neighbors. All of you went above and beyond with your support, hugs and love. Many will miss Gran's feisty, potty mouthed demeanor including her T.O.P.S. girls and her gals at Mission C.I.B.C. Just know she loved you all. A special thank you to her many best friends for all your devotion, attentiveness, kindness and humour ~ Audrey, June, Georgina, Sandy, Jim, Louise, Betty, Viv, Bev, John, Colin, and many more. A huge thank you to Angie for feeding Gran's hummingbirds. Thank you to all at Mission R.C.M.P. where Karin worked as a police guard for eighteen years of service including Rogine, Gerry and Jim. Her family knows in their hearts Gran received a "promotion" for her 75th birthday and celebrated it at "The Greatest Casino" ever where she's playing her beloved slots. A cremation and Celebration of Life shall follow. The family will choose a perfect gardening day this summer to gather for her. Many will miss her beautiful flowers and huge warrior spirit.
