Joshua David born March 5, 1990 was taken away from us suddenly on July 22, 2007. Joshua is survived by his parents Barb and Ryan, brother Christopher and sister Alisha; grandparents; Nonie and Egon Jensen, Helmut and Violet Ahrend, Aunt Lisa and Laureen, and Uncle Mark; -cousins; Devon, Kara, Jared, Graham and Alex.
Joshua is predeceased by his Nana Margaret Ahrend.
Josh lived a short life but lived big. He cared about family and friends and was always quick to make us all laugh with his wonderful sense of humour. Joshua attended 3 different schools in Abbotsford, Jackson Elementary, WA Fraser and Yale Secondary. At each place he had become friends with many wonderful kids.He played soccer until he was 11. He was the goalie for U11 Gold Team and with that accomplishment he decided to play hockey. Josh attended Yale Hockey Academy and played for AMHA Midget B Rep team. Hockey was his passion and with that came a dedication to this sport. From being a team player, always leading by example and trying to bring the best player he could be to each and every game. Josh had other interests, for a while skateboarding was a love of his, playing hacky-sac with his friends at lunch and Parkouring with Chris, Levi, Oniel and Brett. Snowboarding to the extreme.
Josh was a wonderful young man who surrounded himself with good friends.
The family would like to thank the Abbotsford Police and Victim Services for their compassion and support at this difficult time. We would like to thank his friends and their families and all our neighbours and friends for their support and kindness.
Joshua you will be missed but you’ve supplied us with a lifetime of beautiful memories and you will always live in our hearts forever.
A celebration of Joshua's life will be held on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Alderbrook Community Church at Centre Ice, 203-2700 Townline Road, Abbotsford, lead by Coach/Pastor Emil Fernandes.
