HOPALUK, JOSEPH

January 3, 1925 - September 7, 2008

Joseph Hopaluk passed away peacefully on September 7, 2008 in Abbotsford Regional Hospital. Born on January 3, 1925 in Tolstoi, Manitoba.

Predeceased by his wife, Gladys Mae. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and

uncle. He loved being around his family and was known to everyone as

Grandpa Joe. He will be lovingly missed by his daughter, Gail and her husband Barry Champion of Abbotsford, son Robert Hopaluk and his wife Vicki of Chilliwack, and son David Hopaluk and his wife Deborah Irwin of Abbotsford. Grandpa Joe was the proud grandfather of six: Alan Champion and his wife Brenda, Darren Champion and his wife Kim, Michael Hopaluk and his wife Jimin, Brianna Hopaluk, Courtney Irwin Hopaluk, and Danielle Irwin Hopaluk. Great-grandfather of five: Yvonne, Braden, Dane, Alyssa, and Kayden Champion. Also survived by sister Jane Oryshak of Thunder Bay and many his friends in Carriage Lane and Valhaven.

Joe was a veteran of World War II and retired after a career in the Canadian Armed Forces. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at First Memorial, 27555 - 31st Avenue, Aldergrove, BC. Reception to follow in Abbotsford.
