John Burnett went with the angels peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, September 9, 2006 in Burnaby with his sister Darlene and his closest friend, Vikki, by his side. Born in Victoria BC August 5, 1949, he was predeceased by his parents Teresa and Jack. John will be lovingly remembered by: his son Matthew, nieces Robin, Sheri (Brian) great nieces Megan, Yvonne, Harlie-Rae, great nephew Andrew, great-great nephew Dayton, his dear friends Vikki McCrea, Jeanette Dillobough, Brenda Marshall, Glenn, Sherry and Victoria Edmunds-Flett, Nikki O’Halloran plus all his furry critters on four legs. The past four years John had become the pied piper of puppies in Mission. He spent all his time walking and caring for dogs. We have all been deeply blessed by his kind, gentle, generous and loving presence. He will be greatly missed.

A celebration of John’s life will be held on September 23, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the New Apostolic Church, 2489 McMillan Road, Abbotsford. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in John’s name to the Fraser Valley Humane Society or the Christine Morrison Hospice. We would like to give special thanks to: Dr. Potter, the staff at the Christine Morrison Hospice and the second floor at Mission Memorial Hospital along with the Shopper’s Drug Mart, Mission pharmaceutical staff.
