John VANKOESVELD

February 6, 2007

John Vankoesveld passed away on February 6, 2007. He was born on August 27, 1937 in Barneveld, Holland, the oldest son of Herman and Jannetje Vankoesveld. He had two sisters Hemmie and Jans and four brothers Joop, Kees, Cor, and Gerrit. John was predeceased by his firstborn son Johnny Lee in 1963.

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife Doreen, his three children Cindy (Matt) Ziemer, Barb (Jack) Forman, and Rick (Yvonne) Vankoesveld and three step-children Angie (Daice) Harvey, Barb (Kevin) Rogers and John Rogers.

His 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren will miss his laughs and hugs.

John had a huge heart and loved to help the less fortunate. He always had a huge smile for the handicapped and showed much patience for the elderly. If ever help was needed, John was always available. John loved to stay in touch with his family and was extremely proud of his grandchildren’s accomplishments. John experienced many difficult times throughout his life but received inspiration from the motto:

“Je maintiendrai” (We wrestle and overcome).

We will miss his long phone calls and his unique sense of humour.

We love you John, Daddy, Grandpa, and Great-grandpa.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC, (604)
