JAMES, John Raymond

It is with great sadness that the family of John Raymond James announce his passing on March 1st, 2009 at the age of 88 years. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Violet Viola. He will be lovingly remembered by daughter Judy; son David (Andree); grandchildren, Christina, John and Tara; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Gwendyllyn, Elizabeth, Andrew, Larissa and Ashley; sister Phyllis and brother Joe; as well as extended family and friends. John was a renowned steelhead fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the "Duke of Connaught's Own Rifles" and saw combat action in WW II. Born in Siemens, Saskatchewan in 1920, he moved to Mission City, BC the same year and lived his entire life there. A celebration of his life will be held at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7th, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society.
