Mr. John "Jack" Albert Quinn, late of Abbotsford passed away on February 14, 2004 at the age of 87 at MSA Hospital.

He is survived by his daughter Patricia Flodin (Bruce), his son James Quinn (Deborah) and grandchildren Matthew, Andrew and Caitlin Quinn.

Mr. Quinn was a resident of Abbotsford ever since 1953, where he moved with his young family to become the General Manager of the Atangard Hotel, now the Fraser Valley Inn. He was active in the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club during the 1950's and was a founding member and Vice-President of the Abbotsford Curling Club. One of the Fraser Valley's original commuters, Mr. Quinn was the General Manager of the Chieftain Hotel in Squamish, B.C. during the early 1960's and was the Managing Director of Wild Rose Mills Ltd., Vancouver until his retirement.

Mr. Quinn joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in August 1940 at Fort William, Ontario and served both in Canada (Gander, Nfld., Prince Rupert, B.C. and Sea Island, B.C.) and overseas (England and France) until his retiring as a Flight Lieutenant in November 1945.

He was a Member of the Royal Canadian Legion ever since 1944; a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry since 1947, Abbotsford Lodge, No. 70; and a regular membr of the Gizeh Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S. of Burnaby, B.C. and the Abbotsford Shrine Club No. 40.

As you might guess, golf was his passion.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr. G. Collingridge and the kind, thoughtful and caring staff at MSA Hospital.
