The family of Jan Hooyenga announce his peaceful passing at Heritage Village, Chilliwack, B.C.
Born in Bergum, Friesland, Holland, immigrated to Chilliwack in 1948, was sponsored by a Rosedale family as a farmhand which led to his farming years in Barrowtown, upon retiring he moved to Ladner, BC.
Dad highly enjoyed the activities that the Richmond Pentecostal Seniors Group offered, especially the carpet bowling.
Predeceased by his wife Mabel (Thomas) Hooyenga and daughter Allie Souter.
Survived by his daughters; Lucy (Aaron), Aukie (Jim), Linda (Bruce) and Julie (Jim), son Johnny, seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
We would like to thank the staff at Heritage Village for the loving care they gave our dad.
