MAY, JAMES EDWARD

August 29, 1926 - September 3, 2008

Born in Masset, Queen Charlottes, BC, Dad stayed with us long enough to celebrate his 82nd birthday. He spent his lifetime working in forestry as a logger, working for Pretty’s Timber (Harrison Lake Division) for many years. Jim had many things which brought joy and laughter into his life. His dogs always gave him companionship especially Goldie and Lady. He was an outdoorsman who spent time hunting, fishing, camping and loved to relax on the beach at Bear Creek.

When he retired from his “Camp Life” you would often see him sitting on the front porch at home basking in the sun with the flowers, birds, and listening to his radio.

Dad also liked to know what was going on with “the kids” and would keep in touch with us by phone. Dad, you had so many things to tell us and we want you to know that we are still listening. Jim was predeceased by his son, Randolf; granddaughter, Nicky and sisters, Doreen and Peggy. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Verna; daughters, Brenda (Alex), Cindy, (Lee), Vonnie (Russ) and Tammy (Keith); his sons, Mark, Calvin and Sid; sisters, Betty and Dolly; brother, Bob; 15 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.

Many thanks from the family to Dr. Patel, Dr. Finch, Mission Memorial Hospital 2nd floor staff, ECU care staff and the Christine Morrison Hospice staff and volunteers, as well as everyone for their cards, flowers, phone calls and visits, his journey was made easier from all the special care each one of you gave him. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mission Hospice Society would be appreciated. At Jim’s request, no service will be held.

Dad you and Nicky are now together so take care of her for us.
