Jacomina, born June 16, 1918 passed away suddenly on December 26, 2004 at the age of 86 years. Jacomina, known to her friends as Miep, was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Dirk Koning in 1998. Miep and Dirk immigrated from the Netherlands with two small children in 1953. Later their third child was born. Miep and Dirk owned and operated a daffodil farm in Bradner, Abbotsford, B.C., where they raised their children and lived a happy, but busy life. Miep is survived by her son George Koning, his wife Rose and their children Wade, Sheri and Lisa. Her daughter Joyce Hughes and her husband Gerry and their children Terrah, Kristy, Stacey and Melissa. Her youngest daughter Yvonne Koning and her children Dustin and Cody. Miep will be truly missed by her 10 great grandchildren, Keegan, Cole, Brooklyn, Michaela, Taylor, Mackenzie, Emily, Alexandra, Aurora and Aidan. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 4th, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. in Hazelwood Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at Bethel Reformed Church, 3260 Gladwin Rd, Abbotsford at 1:00 p.m. Miep lived at Logan Manor in Agassiz for the past year and we would like to thank all of the staff and family who made her life so wonderful this past year.
