Jacob John Krause

Jacob John Krause was born to Jacob Peter Krause and Anna (Peters) on July 19, 1911 in the town of Berwenkova, Ukraine. There he went to Public School and the Commerce School. The churches had been closed because of the government so they had church services in a machine shed and there he accepted the Lord at the age of 12. In 1925 he migrated to Canada going to Langham, SK to his great Uncle John Peter's place. In 1926 the partents moved to Davidson, farming there for 3 years. In 1930 they bought a farm in Wishart with 6 quarters of land. In 1939 he commited his life to God and was baptized in the name of the Father, Son ahd Holy Spirit. In 1942 on June 11 Jacob married Nettie Thiessen. In this union 3 children were born - Arthur, Linda and Alfred. In 1948 they moved to Foam Lake later joining the MB Church. There he was able to serve the Lord in different ways, such as Secretary, adult Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent and Treasurer. In 1950 on April 21, Nettie passed away very suddenly with a hemorrhage of the brain. In 1951 he got married to Tina, sister of Nettie. To this union 7 children were born - Esther, Ernest, Adina, Verna, Elsie, Daniel and Carol. In 1979 Jacob retired to Clearbrook, B.C. November 26, 1991 he fell and broke his right hip and since that time he had difficulty walking, even with a walker. Several years later the hip had to be operated on again and before it healed Jake fell and broke the left hip. Because of the balance problems he finally had to use the wheelchair. After a short hospitalization stay Jake passed away at 93 years of age on July 26, 2004 leaving to mourn his wife Tina of over 53 years of marriage; 2 sons, 6 daughters, their spouses, grandchildren and great-grand-children, 3 sisters and many cousins and friends. It is our prayer that everone would be ready to meet the Lord. Dad is now rejoicing with Jesus. There will be a Graveside Service held Friday, July 30, 2004 at 9:30 am from Maclure Rd. Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am from Clearbrook MS Church.
