Jacob "Jake" Klassen

July 8, 1928 - November 10, 2019
Jake Klassen, passed away at the age of 91 on November 10, 2019. He is survived by Agatha, his wife of 69 years, three sons; Ernest, Dennis, Barry, two daughters Clara, Sharon (Toews) and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was Grandpa Jake to many more than just relatives.
Moving with his family from Saskatchewan in 1971, Jake soon began his own heating business in Abbotsford. Both before and after retirement, he was very active in his church and in the local community. He is fondly remembered by many for his work in church with Christian Service Brigade. His community contributions included: volunteer fireman, helping in the community police program, prison and hospital visitation, assisting at blood donors' clinics, and volunteering in several Thrift shops. He loved to sing and often played his harmonica in various seniors' homes.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Menno Hospital Chapel, where Agatha now lives. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to SIM Canada for the Dorcas Widows' project in Benin, West Africa.
