LAVIS, Jack
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Lavis on Wednesday, October the 28th, 2009. Jack was born on January 6th, 1925 in Burnaby BC. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Nellie, and his two older brothers Gord, and Chuck. Jack was a very proud lifelong Burnaby resident who loved sports, but he was especially passionate about soccer (The family game). He worked for several years in the trucking industry and was a valued member of many Lower Mainland soccer clubs. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Isabelle; daughter Vicki(Mike) and son Gerry. Jack was a wonderful grandfather to five grandchildren; Jack(Holley), Cindy, Michelle(James), Lyndsy and Richard; four great grandchildren; Ryan, Shalimar, Kyle and Brendan. The family would like to thank Dr. Blackwood, Dr Potter and the nurses at Mission Memorial Hospital, and the Christine Morrison Hospice for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations to the MS Society of BC would be greatly appreciated.
