Irma Arlene Knight (nee Klassen)

It is with the greatest sadness we announce the passing of our dear mom, grandma, sister and aunt. Mom left us to be with our Heavenly Father on July 29 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Predeceased by her parents, Herman and Helen Klassen, Mom will be dearly missed by sons Bevan (Louise); Nathan; Joseph (Alana); daughter Elizabeth; grandchildren Jordan, Gabriel, Annika, Kowen and Grace; brothers Arnold (Ruth); Richard; Arthur (Nicole); Leonard; and sister Rhoda. Mom was born in Mission, BC on May 30, 1950 and spent her childhood on the Klassen dairy farm in Mt. Lehman with her parents and 5 siblings. Mom developed an incredible work ethic that would remain with her all of her life. Mom met Ken Rempel and they briefly dated before marrying and moving to Mission where Mom took care of the home while Ken pursued his life as a businessman. Mom briefly worked for BC Tel, however gave up her career to begin her life as a mother of four children, 2 of which came after a miracle surgery. Mom loved her life as a homemaker and diligently passed on her love of the Lord and hard work to her children. Mom reached out to everyone she met and her beloved house in Mission was continuously filled with friends, family and food. Mom strongly believed in the Biblical principal that all life is precious. Near the end of her struggle Mom was presented with the offer of ending her suffering and taking the easy road. Mom replied, “ My life is a gift from God and I will not throw it back in His face.” Mom continued to put her trust in the Lord throughout her battle with cancer and we know she is now resting and at peace in the arms of Jesus. The family would like to thank all those who visited with mom during her suffering and who helped care for her when she was too weak. A special thanks goes to the incredible staff at the Abbotsford palliative care and Christine Morrison Hospice facilities. In lieu of flowers please feel free to leave a donation to the Mission Hospice. The funeral service for mom will be held at the Mission campus of Northview Community Church on Thursday, August 3rd at 1:30 pm.
