Irma (nee Braun), born June 26, 1928 in Laird, Saskatchewan, passed away into the presence of her Lord and Saviour December 1, 2007 in Abbotsford, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband, of 59-1/2 years Henry; children Donna (Vern) Ferriss, Cecile Friesen, Geraldine (Roger) Rook, Vern (Karyn) Friesen, Mel (Evelyn) Friesen, Deb (Ed) Wright, Tom Friesen, Patty (Phil) Stone; 35 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren as well as her siblings; a host of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Irma was predeceased by her son Ron in 1988.
She is remembered for her gift of hospitality and her Christian testimony, living out the love that she had for her Lord.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. at West Abbotsford Mennonite Church, 31216 King Road, Abbotsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Samaritan’s Purse for the “Water Filtration” program.
