Hildor E. JANZ

March 21, 2007

April 27, 1921 - March 31, 2007

Hildor Janz was born in small town Saskatchewan to a Mennonite family of 8 boys and 3 girls, Hildor being the second youngest. From a very young age Hildor had a passion for music. At an early age he won a singing contest to sing on the radio. He had a second passion, that of serving God, and being an influence to others in bringing them into a relationship with God.

He married the love of his life, Olga Penner. They together experienced more adventure in their life than they ever could have imagined. They left the farm in Saskatchewan and joined Prairie Bible Institute, to become a part of the music team. Hildor with his brothers formed the Janz Quartet. Hildor being the soloist packed up his wife and 4 children and moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he studied voice under the direction of some of the best singers in the world.

The adventure continued when Hildor and his brother Leo, joined together to form the Janz Team. They moved to Germany, with Leo preaching and Hildor was able to release the passion he felt through music and evangelism. Hildor’s music, through recordings and radio programs could be heard around the world. He personally travelled, singing from his heart, in Europe, and North and South America. He touched the hearts of thousands of people. People were attracted to Hildor not only because of his incredible voice given to him by God, but also people loved him because they sensed his love for people.

Hildor and Olga Janz had 6 children, who were privileged to be a part of their dad’s and mom’s incredible adventure. They have 17 beautiful grandchildren as well as 18 great-grandchildren. Both his children and grand-children will remember their dad and grandpa for loving to make them laugh with his incredible sense of humor.

We invite friends to join the family in a Celebration of Hildor’s life at a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2007 from South Abbotsford M.B. Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the continuing ministry of the Janz Team Ministries, 2121 Henderson Hwy, Winnipeg, MB R2G 1P8
