My beautiful mother, Helene passed into the presence of her Lord on September 26, 2005. She will be very much missed by her daughter Marlene; son-in-law Ed, who she thought of as a son; and her sister Anne, who took such loving care of her. She is also survived by her brother John (Samrob); nieces Sharon, Diane (Sean) and nephew Larry (Brenda). Helene was born in Steinfeld, Ukraine on Feb. 22, 1927. She fled to Germany during World
War II until the collapse of Germany and then immigrated to Canada in 1948. She made her home in the Abbotsford area for the remainder of her life.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29 between 7:00 - 9:00 pm in Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford. A private family graveside service will be held at Maclure Road Cemetery, followed by a public memorial service at Eben-Ezer Mennonite Church, 2051 Windsor Street, Abbotsford on Friday, Sept. 30, 2005 at 11:00 am.
