FOSTER, Harold “Hal” David

Hal Foster passed away peacefully on February 17, 2009. Born in Calgary, he spent his youth in Edmonton moving to North Vancouver in 1968 and upon retiring in 1985 to Abbotsford.

Predeceased by his beloved son, David; brothers, Douglas and William; parents, William and Isabelle.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lois; sons, Glenn and T. Ross; very special granddaughters, Tiffany and Rebecca; sister, Vaughan of Nanaimo; brothers, Jack of Nanaimo and Barton of Calgary, daughter-in-law, Lynne.

Hal served with The Regina Rifles, 3rd Canadian Division and as an Infantry Captain with the British Army, Dorset Regiment, 50th Division and 9th Battalion, 7th Armoured Division. He was a D – Day Veteran.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 7, 2009 at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, 2010 Guilford Drive, Abbotsford, and no flowers by request.
