BOUCHIR Harold

March 2, 1907 ~ March 22, 2008

Harold passed away peacefully at the Stuart Pavilion Extended Care Unit in Mission on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the age of 101 years.

He was predeceased by his wife Loja. He is survived by his daughters Delia (Maurice) Fossum and Marilyn (Edward) Niemiec, his sons Larry (Sharon) and Bryan (Linda), eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Harold was the tenth of eleven children born to Moise and Amelia Bouchir, a pioneer family in Durieu who homesteaded there in the 1880's. Harold was born and raised there. He remained on the property (fondly known as "the Ranch") for over one hundred years, until November 2007 when illness made it necessary for him to be hospitalized and later take up residence in the Stuart Pavilion.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Dr. Smith and Harold's "ladies" from Valley Home Support, the staff from Mission Memorial Hospital and Extended Care Unit for all their kindness. Prayers will be held on Friday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 32550 Seventh Avenue, Mission. Funeral Mass will follow on Saturday, March 29 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Harold's memory to a charity of your choice.
