Wiens, Hans J.
Of Abbotsford, BC passed into the presence of his Lord on August 9. He was a teacher, pastor and long-time missionary in South America with MBMSI. Born on July 22, 1922 in the Ukraine, his family fled to South America in 1930, settling in the Mennonite
colony of Fernheim in the Paraguayan Chaco. He married the love of his life, Susana Epp on March 1, 1947. Education and the empowerment of young
teachers, pastors and missionaries was a hallmark of his service for the Lord. The family moved to Canada in 1975 where he was pastor of the Vancouver M.B. Church and later retired in Abbotsford. Saying "Auf Wiedersehen" and celebrating a fulfilled and blessed life, is his wife, five children and their spouses, eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and relatives and friends around the world. The Celebration of life will take place on Monday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. in
the King Road M.B. Church. memorial gifts may be given to Logos Canada in lieu of flowers. “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! For we can do everything through Christ, who gives us strength.”
